intaglio and drypoint on Somerset
Originally titled Primordial Soup while in process, this print documents various states of growth and destruction. This occurred in the making of the etching plate as well, when original imagery at the bottom of the plate was obscured and rebuilt with an electric rotary tool. This area is also an homage to a peer printmaker, Nicole Cook, who used this method of building up and destructing images on an etching plate with similar pyramidical structures.
